Given how often I've reached for Through Wilderness over the past four years, Upon Desolation was an instant buy. Does not disappoint. Slimy and bruising death doom throughout. I'm also really digging how the band stretches out, mixing tempos and varying the attack. Violin is a nice touch.
Favorite track: Days of Grey.

A soundtrack for the smoke filled skies and burning landscape of the west. Pulverizing blasts, followed by OSDM d-beats building in fury, then breaking to introspective death doom riffs, with tasteful hints of prog and melodic DM. Some cultured piano and fastidious violin accents the sound scape, encouraging the onslaught.
This album transcends genre limitations without offending the hoards, giving listeners a new death metal cvlt classic for our era!
Hail to Bay Area Death Metal! 🤘🔥🥀

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal

I'm kicking my own ass for somehow missing this when it released. Expertly arranged death metal with kick drums that could demolish a high-rise. zirtonic
